F.A.Q. H1N1 Flu Hotline sponsored by 1-800-FREE411

1-800-FREE411 is providing FREE flu information! Simply dial 1-800-FREE411 (1-800-373-3411) and choose "flu hotline" from our main menu. From there you can receive information on:

  1. H1N1 Vaccine locations and local information
  2. Flu News
  3. Health Tips
Is this information available to anyone?
The information is available to those callers calling from area codes where information is available within the continental U.S. The team at 1-800-FREE411 is monitoring several different sources to present the most comprehensive information available. There are some instances where information is simply not available, and therefore not available to FREE411 callers.

Where is the information coming from?
The information we are providing is from multiple sources. The information for the Flu News and Health Tips is sourced from the CDC (http://www.cdc.gov/H1N1FLU). The vaccine locations and local information has been gathered from several community and local websites, health centers and hotlines.

National and government centers continue to roll out information and as of yet, there is not one single source of local information about the flu. FREE411 is not creating new information but gathering information from several local sources and creating a new way to bring you that information. All of the information we provide is existing information, but we thought we would make it easier for you to get to that information - leave all that research to us!

When is this information available?
We will be adding content to the local section as it becomes available. Check available area codes.

What do you mean by area code?
The area code of the phone you are calling from, not the location. For example, if your mobile phone has a Washington, D.C. (202) area code but you happen to be in Boston (617), you'll be given information about Washington, D.C.

How regularly is this updated?
The 1-800-FREE411 team will be monitoring the sources and updating the information we are providing whenever updates are available. All recordings will be made with a timestamp so the caller will know when it was recorded.

Why is this a priority for 1-800-FREE411?
At 1-800-FREE411, our mission is to provide free information - from directory assistance and horoscopes to sports scores and weather - whenever and wherever we can. We have the infrastructure and technology to gather and provide comprehensive information about the flu, so it makes sense for us to make that available to the general public.
